The son of seed merchants in downtown Colmar, Serge Voltz set up his vegetable and flower seed distribution business in 1985, logically naming it "GRAINES VOLTZ".
Over the past 35 years, GRAINES VOLTZ has become France's leading independent family business in this market. The company's strong convictions have enabled it to anticipate its customers' needs and provide tailor-made service and support. Over the years, Serge Voltz and his brother Christian, the company's financial director, have surrounded themselves with expert technicians who are passionate about the product, to support their development. GRAINES VOLTZ is today 270 employees working every day to satisfy your needs.
To remain true to our DNA based on proximity to our customers, in 2021 we have set up an organization dedicated to market gardening. This team VOLTZ Maraîchage team now provides services tailored to your specific needs, whether you're involved in conventional or organic production.

Birth of GRAINES VOLTZ in Colmar
The company devotes itself entirely to the seed trade. Within a year, Graines Voltz achieves sales of 1 million francs with a regional clientele.
2002
Logistics development: new center at Brain-sur-l'Authion (49)
Located at the heart of France's plant industry competitiveness cluster, Brain-sur-l'Authion guarantees fast, high-quality service to customers.
2004-2006
Performance award and Grand Prix de l'Entrepreneur
2004, Prix de la performance, awarded by the daily newspaper "Les Echos" in the development category.
2006, Grand Prix de l'Entrepreneur Grand Est, awarded by the monthly magazine L'Entreprise.
2020
Acquisition of the business portfolio of HILD SAMEN
Graines Voltz acquires the business portfolio of HILD Samen in Marbach, Germany.
2020
Acquisition of distribution company HERMINA-MAIER
Creation of a subsidiary in Germany through the acquisition of one of the largest independent distributors of professional seeds in that country and in Austria.

Convinced that tomorrow's agriculture will require healthier food that respects the environment and people, Serge Voltz developed his first range of organic vegetable seeds in 1998. His challenge: to offer organic market gardeners the same diversity of varieties as in conventional production, with the same high standards of quality and security of supply. Today, over 600 varieties are available in organic seed: vegetables, heirloom vegetables, herbs, etc.
